NAWOJ begins sale of nomination forms for election of new exco

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has commenced the sale of nomination forms for the election of new executive members. In a statement endorsed by the chairman of the six-member electoral board at the end of its maiden meeting, Mrs. Ime Udokpan has called on qualified and interested members of the union to pick their nomination forms at the NUJ Press Centre on Information Drive in the state capital.
She disclosed that interested contestants were expected to submit their duly completed forms on or before November 30, 2015. According to her, seven offices would be vied for in the forthcoming election. The positions include, Chairman, Vice chairman, secretary, treasurer and financial secretary, other positions to be contested for are, assistant secretary and auditor.
She further added that interested aspirants would be required to pay a non refundable amount of N15, 000 for the position of Chairman; N10,000, for Vice Chairman; N10, 000 for the position of treasurer; N10,000 for Secretary and N8, 000 for Financial Secretary, while contestants for the offices of Auditor and Assistant Secretary would pay the sum of N5, 000 respectively to obtain their nomination forms.
The electoral committee chairman also called on members of the committee to be steadfast and show greater responsibility in the task of ensuring free, fair and credible elections. Other members to serve on the committee include, ImaAbasi Etok, secretary; Evelyn Affia, Abigail Isaac, Idongesit Akan and Edidiong Ibah.
