I just bought fuel N120 per litter in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. My findings indicates that other fuel stations within Uyo are selling fuel between 100 to 150 naira per litter.
Guess what is behind the hike? I'm told that fuel marketers increased fuel price because of the pro-Biafra protests that took place in Aba yesterday and that is going on in other parts of the South East and Rivers State.
I am completely at sea over this development. I find myself unable to rationalise this state of affairs. What is the nexus between the Biafra protests and the price of fuel?
I am calling on the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to immediately check the trend and restore sanity. The last time I was in Uyo I bought fuel N100. Innocent Nigerians should not be made to suffer unduly. The government approved price of fuel remains N87.
